AI connectors reduce the friction employees face when trying to access HR information or complete routine tasks. Instead of logging into a separate portal or human resources information system (HRIS) to check a balance or submit a request, employees can get answers and take action directly inside the tools they already use. For HR teams, that means fewer repetitive questions to field and more time focused on work that requires human judgment.
isolved built the People Cloud connector for Claude on exactly that principle. Rather than bolting AI onto an existing HCM platform, isolved put AI where employees already are. You may see this kind of tool called a Claude plugin, but isolved’s version is a connector, built on the open Model Context Protocol (MCP) that Claude uses to connect to outside systems. It runs as a secure MCP server, so there’s no custom middleware to build or maintain.
Employees can check time-off balances, view pay submit requests and get HR answers directly inside Claude using their real isolved data. And because isolved chose to build on Anthropic rather than build its own AI stack, the connector gets more capable as Anthropic advances, without any additional effort required from HR teams or administrators.
