Challenge: Wagner, Falconer & Judd saw that many small businesses needed additional HR and employment law support but didn’t have those resources internally. The firm had the expertise to help but needed a way to connect with more businesses and HR teams that could benefit from it.
Solution: The firm joined the isolved Marketplace to provide employment law expertise through the isolved Business & Employment Law Center (BELC). Through BELC, customers can submit questions directly to employment law attorneys or HR professionals and receive a same-day response.
Impact: Since partnering with isolved through BELC, WFJ has expanded its reach from 43 states to all 50 states and Washington, D.C., while building a more geographically balanced client base. The partnership has also helped WFJ increase its visibility and share its expertise with businesses across the country.
Small Businesses Needed More HR and Legal Support
Wagner, Falconer & Judd (WFJ) saw a gap: small businesses that needed timely human resources (HR) and employment law support but lacked those resources internally. The Minneapolis-based law firm regularly helps with workplace policies, business documents and employment-related questions. The next step was connecting that expertise with more businesses that needed it.
“We saw a need in the marketplace with small businesses between 15 employees and even up to 100 where they needed extra support in their HR department,” said Jordan Cardenas, an attorney at WFJ.
Delivering Employment Law Support Through BELC
Through the isolved Marketplace, WFJ supports isolved customers through the Business & Employment Law Center, or BELC, providing direct access to employment law attorneys and HR support. BELC is part of a growing suite of Marketplace solutions designed to work with isolved People Cloud™, helping customers extend the value of their human capital management (HCM) platform.
Customers can use BELC to get answers to employment-related questions and escalate matters when additional legal support is needed.
Using a simple ticketing system, customers can submit questions directly to employment law attorneys or HR professionals and receive a same-day response, along with support for:
Employment law guidance, including hiring, termination, disciplinary and wage matters
New employee onboarding assistance
Workplace and time and attendance policy support
Business document review, redlining and drafting
Compliance resources for benefits administration, including ERISA, ACA and HIPAA guidance
When a matter requires deeper support, customers can escalate it for additional document work or discounted legal representation. Cardenas also points to the people behind the partnership as an important part of its value, citing the isolved team’s responsiveness, professionalism and willingness to work alongside WFJ to support clients.
“Since we became an isolved Marketplace Partner, our business has grown significantly. Just being in the Marketplace, we're able to do webinars with clients and, through the BELC system, offer a wide range of legal services to clients all across the country. That has been monumental for us.”

Greater National Reach and Business Growth
Since partnering with isolved through BELC, WFJ has expanded its reach from 43 states to all 50 states and Washington, D.C. Previously, nearly 38% of tickets came from WFJ’s traditional regional markets. Today, the firm has a more geographically balanced client base across the country.
WFJ has also expanded its team and added locations in Billings, Montana, and Vancouver, Canada, giving the firm an even broader presence as its business has grown.
The Marketplace gives WFJ access to a community of more than 200,000 organizations representing 9 million employees. Cardenas also credits the partnership with helping WFJ build its brand and create more opportunities to share its expertise with businesses across the country.
Those opportunities include webinars on current business topics and changing employment laws. Cardenas hosts webinars with isolved, including a recent session on 2026 employment law changes across all 50 states, covering new requirements for hiring, wages, leave and remote workforce management. For WFJ, these sessions are another way to connect with businesses that may need its expertise.
