Considering today’s competitive job market, organizations need all the help they can get to secure a talented and loyal workforce. Many are recognizing the role benefits can play in helping them achieve it.

According to our recent survey, most employees factor in an employers’ benefits offerings when deciding where to work. In fact, 82 percent consider benefits part of their total compensation.

There’s no denying that offering a competitive benefits package can be advantageous. However, benefits administration can be time-consuming and labor-intensive, especially for smaller organizations with limited HR resources.

With 30 full-time employees, Thermodyne is one of those organizations. They turned to isolved to help streamline their processes so they can leverage benefits to help them attract and retain staff. The Indiana-based company manufactures high-performance aerospace insulation. Their customer base is impressive – the air force and navy divisions of the U.S. and French militaries.

Director of Operations, Marc A. Roark, was looking for solution to assist him with managing his team and ultimately chose to work with isolved. We asked Roark to share with us how isolved became his provider of choice.

What were the main challenges you were trying to solve with a human capital management (HCM) platform?

Roark: What we needed from a partner, and what isolved provided, is a platform where everything can be put into one spot – payroll, insurance benefits, 401K, learning management. We wanted a one-stop shop for HR and benefits.

Why did you ultimately choose isolved?

Roark: What sold me is isolved’s commitment to help companies do more for their associates without having to add staff.

How is isolved helping you achieve your objectives?

Roark: isolved completely set up an amazing portal and helped get us connected to some great vendors for benefits.

Can you describe a success story that wouldn’t have been possible without isolved?

Roark: I’d have to say the ability to connect three to five different carriers’ portals to the isolved portal. For the last two years we have been entering everyone into the payroll and benefits portion of the platform, but then had to turn around and enter all the employees into a separate portal for each medical, vision and dental enrollee as well. With isolved, we will no longer have to do that.

Would you recommend isolved to other companies?

Roark: Yes, I would recommend isolved’s platform for its ease of use. I appreciate the friendly support team and the fact that they stand behind their product. isolved has made it easier for me to run the company I manage.
